Description:Here is a Design project where I had to make a flier for a graduate leadership conference. I was given text, a picture, and a logo and told to create a design with a clear message directed to my audience. Also, including all the design principals we learned.
Process: Well, this was the first project and my first time using InDesign. I first created several sketches and then picked mu favorite and started designing it! It was pretty tricky to get the hang of it at first but I think I succeeded. I had 3 peers critique my first draft design then with the extra tips I created this final design.
Message: The message is that if there are any recent/soon to be graduates looking for leadership opportunities then this conference is here for them. It will teach them how to gain great leadership skills.
Audience: My audience is any recently/soon to be graduate looking for leadership training.
Top Thing Learned: I learned how to use the InDesign program.

I really like your design, Brittany! I particularly like the repeating elements you used. The circles create a nice flow throughout your flier. I also really like how you made sure to leave white space. I’m beginning to realize that white space is so important! I also like how you made ‘graduate’ in the title bigger therefore emphasizing that it’s for recent graduates. And as a viewer, that is the first thing I saw. I also really like the fonts that you used. It makes the flier easy to read and they go well together. Again, I really like the way you used the circles as repeating elements. It creates nice rhythm! Nice work!

Brittany, your design is awesome! I love the circles in your design and the repetition of them. I loved that you used different values as well. I thought that both the circles and the value created a nice flow to your design. I also loved your use of white space, none of it is squirting out, it also flows very nicely.
